Role Responsibility
You will report to a Location Manager and the Series Location Manager
You will be required to –
Ensure productions move smoothly from development to production
Assist the Location Manager in setting up production on location
Liaise closely with Series Location Manager and Location Manager during production to ensure productions are running smoothly and financial risks are mitigated
Ensure the episode budget is adhered to by attending regular cost report meetings on location and either solving or raising any issues as appropriate
Ensure health and safety and child protection/safeguarding policies are in place on production and raise any concerns
Responsible for ensuring that the location store is kept clean, well-organised and fully stocked
Completing weekly checks on the maintenance and condition of the departmental van(s) and trailers whilst arranging when MOT’s, Services and Repairs are required
Supervise the activity of the location assistant, in conjunction with the location manager
The Ideal Candidate
Experience of working as a Unit Manager, preferably in Drama Productions
Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own decision making
Experience of working with drama budgets
Willingness to work as part of an in-house drama team
An informed interest and enthusiasm for drama productions
Understanding of BBC contracting systems and processes for payments
Knowledge of production and office-based H&S practices and policies
Understanding of ethos & working practices of a production
Knowledge of BBC environmental policies & practices
Full, clean driving licence, preferably to include towing
