Job Introduction
From its bases in Bristol, Cardiff and Belfast, BBC Studios’ Unscripted department produces many of the BBC’s most well-loved and highly acclaimed brands. Productions, such as Gardeners World, Countryfile, Chelsea Flower Show, Antiques Roadshow, as well as DIY SOS and Bargain Hunt.
The Bristol-based Antiques Roadshow production team, which each year films with experts and contributors at locations across the UK, is now looking for TWO Runners to join them. One of BBC1’s longest running primetime factual strands, regularly attracting up to 6 million viewers, these roles will, for the foreseeable future, primarily involve remote working but successful candidates will also be required to work on location.
The contractual dates for the Runner roles are as follows –
1. Monday 17th May – Friday 1st October
2. Monday 24th May – Friday 24th September
Main Responsibilities
To support the production team in the office and on location
To look after crew & contributors on location
Pre-shoot preparation (under instruction from production team)
To assist with contestant correspondence and office administration
To undertake general office duties including note taking, taking messages, photocopying, e-mailing and filing
To assist in casting and management of contributors
Assisting with maintaining the contributor database
You must have a clean and valid driving licence

An adaptable and flexible approach to work
Enthusiasm for producing Factual content.
A confident telephone manner
An ability to type and a good working knowledge of IT packages including Word and Excel.
To be numerate, literate and comfortable talking on the phone.
An understanding and ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity
To be able to identify priorities and to complete work in priority order
To have the confidence, motivation and ability to complete tasks accurately and to time
To be able to establish effective working relationships with all the department’s staff
Knowledge & understanding of the BBC Values
A clear understanding of the logistical requirements of television production
Demonstrable experience in TV production and interest in the type of productions made by BBC Studios.
