The Bailey’s Hotel London is seeking an Assistant Reservations Manager to be responsible for ensuring the maximum occupancy, average rate and yield achieved in conjunction with financial objectives.

The Bailey’s Hotel London is located in the heart of London’s fashionable South Kensington and on the doorstep of Gloucester Road underground station. The iconic Victorian townhouse offers guests a unique combination of traditional British charm and contemporary style, as well as a fascinating history and legendary hospitality.
All of the guest rooms are elegantly designed and beautifully furnished, each decorated in one of four unique themes: City Gent, Henley Regatta & The Thames, Kensington & The Great Exhibition, and Kew Gardens. As an Assistant Reservations Manager your key responsibilities will include:
To ensure Revenue Dynamics techniques of availability and rate controls are applied, so as to maximise room sales and revenue for the Hotel.
To ensure availability is reviewed, all restrictions are recorded and CRO the GDS systems and Reservations team kept informed accordingly.
To monitor competitors’ performance to ensure the correct selling strategies are applied.
To report and analyse all room revenue and business trends and production results.
To ensure the department operates with a sales attitude and all personnel are aware of the sales opportunities within the Hotel which will assist with the maximisation of revenue.
Supervise the taking of reservations and operate booking systems in accordance with current company standards and procedures.
To ensure accurate advance booking count and forecasting is carried out.
To maintain and update all profiles, histories and marketing database.
To ensure all room rates, allocations and allotments are set up and recorded correctly.
To ensure all group enquiries, whether by telephone, fax email or other, are handled in a professional and timely manner in accordance with departmental standards.
To ensure that all groups are looked after to the highest standard and that their expectations are met or exceeded, including personally welcoming and assisting on arrival with all distinguishable groups.
To ensure all cancelled / refused / waitlisted business is recorded with a reason for cancellation / refusal and that all details are followed up and actioned.
To ensure that the no show policy is adhered to and revenues are collected.
To ensure all telephone calls are answered and handled in a timely manner in accordance with departmental standards.
To ensure all correspondence is processed, filed and kept up-to-date in accordance with departmental standard.
Deal with any Guest / Agent / Company complaints received by the Hotels management pertaining to bookings, rates and non arrivals.
To ensure the wellbeing of all Reservations staff, compile departmental working schedules to include the training schedules and annual leave is accounted for and to ensure that departmental meetings are held regularly.
To develop and maintain a high level of communication with all major sources of business.
To carry out regular appraisals for all Reservations personnel.
To ensure departmental induction is thoroughly carried out for new employees and supervise their training, training schedules / records and any corrective training.
To adhere to Company credit policies to ensure all revenue expected is received.
To carry out any other reasonable request made by the Revenue Manager.
To attend any training sessions as required.
To be fully conversant with the hotel fire and emergency procedures.
To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
To know and follow the Health & Safety at Work Act.
You may also be asked to carry out other tasks / requests made by management.
The Experience & Qualifications required as an Assistant Reservations Manager are:-
We are seeking candidates with previous experience in 4*/5* hotels in a similar role.
You will have exceptional communication skills and demonstrable the ability to drive business and promote all of the services at the Hotel to a very high standard.
Being fully conversant with Microsoft MS (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) is essential and knowledge of Opera System is an advantage.
