Full Job Description
Islington is a dynamic, vibrant and accessible London borough with a proud history. It also suffers from high levels of deprivation which has been compounded by the recent pandemic. As a Council we are committed to creating a fairer Islington – one which will bridge the social divide and create opportunity for all, particularly our most vulnerable children, young people and families. Our new service will bring together services supporting educational settings alongside the arts, libraries, progression to employment and training and adult community learning to provide outstanding opportunities for children and their families. The AD will work collaboratively as part of an innovative new management team.
Our new Assistant Director of School Improvement and Pupil Progress will lead and manage strategic and operational services working collaboratively with schools and settings and providing outstanding leadership and drive. Reporting directly to the new Director of Learning and Culture this post will have a remit to modernise and drive system leadership and support the delivery of outstanding and equitable outcomes with headteachers and governors from the Islington Community of Schools.
Our schools and services have responded well to recent events, but it will take your creativity, tenacity and leadership to get us to the next stage and create a better, brighter future. You will have the full support of elected members, the Chief Executive and the Corporate Director of People to make that a reality.
