The Role
The Performance Hub Manager is responsible for the delivery of ‘on time’ operational train performance within the south region across multiple LNER disciplines including Operations, Customer Experience, Engineering and Service Delivery. The role is responsible for Network Rail management, depot and maintenance providers and TOC / FOC relations which directly impact performance in your area.
You’ll guide us to deliver continuous improvements; achieving service agreement commitments; exceeding performance targets & build an ‘On Time’ Culture. You’ll proactively review incidents to understand lessons learned and build strong relationships with stakeholders to collectively deliver a high performing train service for our customers.
You’ll have the opportunity to drive a new way of working in collaboration with the East Coast Partnership Joint Performance Team to ensure that all local plans align to the Performance Strategy and support the ECP in the delivery of new ways of working to become a High Reliability Organisation.
The Performance Hub Manager will work alongside both frontline and senior management in respective functions at both Network Rail and LNER to identify opportunities and weakness in delivery of the performance strategy and synergies in the teams that would help exceed performance in their hub, and support delivery of the joint performance partnership strategy.

You’ll need to…
Demonstrate effective performance leadership with the ability to manage a suite of KPIs, projects, communications and improvement plans, both intently and externally within the hub area;
Guide performance hub improvements and deliver an integrated vision ensuring alignment in KPI delivery across a multi-discipline performance hub;
Ability to implement and deliver a Joint Performance Plans for your Performance Hub area ensuring that cross functional requirements are aligned, KPIs delivered and a consistent message communicated from the area;
Ability to analyse data and develop performance improvement plans to address shortfalls in performance delivery;
Confident to challenge cross functionally to ensure that performance improvement is the key priority for the business, Network Rail and other TOCs / FOCs;
Ability to demonstrate excellent business performance planning, management and commercial awareness;
Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to use influence to gain buy in to enable change to happen through others across different organisations;
Passionate about delivering performance improvement through efficient delivery;
Excellent project management skills; able to demonstrate ability to deliver projects to time, budget and aims in partnership with internal and external stakeholders;
Ability to adapt to change well and implement new ways of working at local level – delivering a high reliability organisation and embedding principles in multi discipline, complex organisations.

We’d love you to have…
Comprehensive standard of education, a degree or higher degree / business qualification being highly desirable;
Membership of a relevant professional body or equivalent experience in that discipline;
Experience of managing a vast portfolio of projects to create an aligned performance hub strategy driving ‘On Time’ performance Improvements;
Proven track record of delivering performance improvement;
Extensive experience of managing and/or supporting Performance Improvements in the rail Industry;
Experience in Performance Improvement & continuous improvement Techniques;
Experience of delivering complex multi discipline projects ideally supported by relevant Project Management Qualifications;
Detailed understanding of the performance management system in the Rail Industry;
Knowledge of railway IT systems, including, Trust, Bugle, P2, and Microsoft Applications;
Performance Leadership qualities and team player approach in both local and cross functional teams.
