Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Product Marketing Coordinator to join the La Mer & Darphin Marketing Team. The role will report to the Product Marketing Manager and will work closely with all marketing functions, the wider brand teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to ensure excellence at all stages of the product lifecycle, from new product launch logistics through to pricing support, ownership of the brand promotional mechanics and execution of the brand marketing calendar.
New Launch Support (20%)
Support with the organisation of kick off / planning meetings.
Work closely with the CRM team to understand consumer data and make recommendations for new launches.
Track the performance of any new launches and report back to the business weekly with recommendations for improvement.
Partner with the sales team for new launch requirements. Attend weekly sales calls.
Own the strategy and planning for virtual and physical eventing in line with campaign objectives.
Share campaign results at the team meetings as required (e.g. competitor insights or specific projects).
Trade Marketing (20%)
Create the bespoke presentations required for each retailer ahead of the bi-annual strategy meetings. Drive contribution from all departments and ensure accuracy of content. Present new launches to selected retailers with weighted ownership on the Darphin brand.
Contact with retailers as required- sharing assets, communicating launch dates etc.
Work closely with the NAM and Assistant Ecommerce manager to ensure new launch plans are suitable to reach the campaign sales objectives. Leading the agenda creation for a bi-weekly trade meeting with all parties.
Forecasting (15%)
Support the forecasting process through gaining feedback on supply as required.
Own the rolling forecast deck for each brand, keeping track of any changes to forecasts and analysing past data scrupulously to make recommendations vs. global guidelines. Work closely with the demand planner to re-evaluate volumes ahead of launch.
Take a proactive approach to excess, with a monthly reconciliation and action plan to ensure excess is minimised.
Monitor stock levels for any activity and CRM birthday programme.
Pricing (15%)
Conduct competitor pricing research to support new launch pricing proposals.
Support the Product Marketing Manager in the annual pricing review (including data analysis, global corridor analysis and providing recommendations vs. product performance).
Sampling & Promotional Marketing (10%)
Be responsible for the sample and promotional forecasts. Create the promotional calendar for each brand and lead in the execution of promotional mechanics. Make recommendations for brand sampling initiatives.
Support the monthly sample reconciliation process by training the Marketing assistant, in collaboration with the Ecommerce team.
Ensure complete supply through seeking regular feedback from the field and produce locally any materials required, as directed by manager, to fill any gaps (e.g. local bag or wrap production).
Internal Communications (5%)
Work with the Marketing Assistant to manage the monthly marketing update and ensure all team members populate in a timely manner (complete ideally 2 months ahead of launch date).
Be the brand POC for discontinuations and communication of line edits.
Lead in the agenda creation for the Monthly Darphin Global Marketing call.
Assist in preparing annual conference presentation as per the Marketing plan
Competitor Insights (5%)
Drive the competitor review with the Marketing Assistant, ensuring a 360˚ approach is taken to show how high performing brands are winning.
Budget Management (5%)
Maintain the allocated budgets for both brands with the support of Product Marketing Manager, ensuring all spend is accurately calendarised and shopping carts are approved before any activity commences.
Visual Merchandising (5%)
Attend the weekly VM & Store design meeting with the Centre of Excellence. Make recommendations and guide the team for each campaign and any ad-hoc projects. Brief any campaigns via the Wrike platform and ensure changes or issues are reported back to the Product Marketing Manager.
Qualifications
Have experience within a marketing role, ideally within beauty, and be passionate about La Mer & Darphin, the beauty industry & consumer trends.
Be highly organised, able to juggle multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
Be able to take a proactive approach to work, managing timelines as set out by the company / brand.
Have a superb eye for detail and reflect this through accurate, high quality work.
Be self-motivated and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Be comfortable working with people at all levels of the organisation and able to develop strong working relationships across the brand/corporation;
Be able to demonstrate excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint all essential);
Be comfortable working with numerical data; generating data from internal systems (e.g. ELVIS; experience is not essential but the ability to learn to use systems quickly is) and have the potential to analyse the data, drawing helpful insights (e.g. NPD industry data);
Be reliable, committed and willing to go above and beyond if the brand requires.
