Full Job Description
SEEKING commercially savvy multi-tasker with a love of data and all things planet related. Must have an entrepreneurial outlook, be resilient and like working with others.
Sounds like a corny lonely hearts advert? If it caught your eye that’s great, but there’s nothing corny about The Body Shop business. We are forging ahead with our growth plans across all our channels and have ambitious targets to hit to help fund our wider ambitions to change the world to make it a fairer and more beautiful place for all. That’s not corny – that’s B-corporation talk and we are determined to make a difference. We now need some great minds, experiences and skills to help us get there.
One particular area is Omnichannel and the maximisation of profitable revenue across our E-commerce and The Body Shop at Home (TBSAH) channels. We are putting in place a future focused structure that will deliver our highly ambitious growth targets in product sales and customer numbers and now need an Omnichannel Manager to focus on the UK direct channels.
Covering the UK and Ireland we need a customer orientated commercially proven operator with expertise in the following areas:
Commercials: You’ll own the P&L for both channels (Ecom and TBSAH) as well as delivery of KPIs across the market. This will mean responsibility for the trading plan including owning forecasts, analysis of trading performance and costs for direct channel deployment.
With strong analytical skills you’ll take the lead on evaluating the effect of promotions and discount mechanics on customer profitability. It will be down to you to flag any shortfalls between long and short-term targets and to ensure trade performance is delivered across the channels.
Strategy: You’ll work in close partnership with the Omnichannel Director to plan and integrate direct channel activities in market. You’ll own the in-market implementation and local content as well as contributing to future channel strategy. You will have a loud and respected voice.
Planning: Working closely with the Supply and Operations team you’ll marry up supply needs with inventory to ensure we maximise efficiency and have what we want where we need it when we need it. All driven by customer sentiment and demand.
You’ll manage excesses, over-stocks and out of dates so your experience at managing and predicting supply chain mechanics and timelines here will be highly beneficial.
What we look for
Exceptional collaboration & influence – you’ll be dealing with a lot of different stakeholders, personalities and functions across The Body Shop including Retail, Global Revenue, Supply chain, Digital, IT and you’ll forever be needing support, information and backup – so the ability to build quick and effective relationships and to influence will be key.
Entrepreneurialism: Things don’t always go as planned so the ability to think differently with agility and to react quickly is essential. You’ll have your finger on the pulse of trading and trends and be confident to suggest new initiatives, ways of working and processes.
Retailer: It goes without saying that to succeed in this role we need an experienced retailer with omnichannel experience. You’ll have worked in a trading function and will understand the nuances of a unique sector.
Purposeful: Alignment with what drives us is an important factor and you will need a strong connection with our purpose and will be a positive (and welcomed) addition to our down to earth but customer obsessed team.
What we offer you in return
a 6% contributory pension plan,
23 days holiday plus bank holidays – time to refresh and recharge
Group bonus scheme
3 additional days a year to volunteer in the local community to support the causes you feel most passionate about
LOVE money to spend on YOUR wellbeing – pamper yourself on us. Every year.
50% staff discount and access to product sample sales
Access to Perks at Work, our online shopping channel with exclusive deals & discounts
AND – we have also implemented ‘Work Wise’ into our HQ – flexibility of ‘in-office’ hours, the ability to work remotely and a new meeting charter.
If you are excited by all that – you might just be the sort of person we need to help us make the impactful change the world needs within a business that invented the culture of ‘joyful collective’ and everything that means and stands for.
We have something special to offer and we’re looking for someone special to help us to do that. Show us how you can contribute to the next step in the evolution of The Body Shop.
