The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring and supervising pool activities to ensure that all guests taking part in these activities adhere to the rules to prevent injuries and other accidents. Lifeguards also respond to any emergencies in a timely manner while providing professional and courteous service to each and every guest.
The Nitty-Gritty:
What exactly you will be doing…
Responsible for daily set up of the pool deck before the pool opens to guests and completing a breakdown of the pool each day as the pool closes
Greet guests and offers assistance and/or instruction in the use of the facilities
Oversee swimmers and issues towels and equipment to guests
Responsible for following all designated emergency procedures and understands duties in the event an emergency arises
Provide constant visual surveillance of pool and surrounding area identifying any potential safety or emergency situations
Ensures the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas
Knows and adheres to Virgin Hotel Las Vegas and departmental policies and procedures, embrace company culture and take pride in the resort and amenities
Understands and well versed in the resort, hotel features, and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities, and events available to guests
Attends required training classes and incorporates new standards, service knowledge, and safety into daily work practices
Looks for opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments, or leaders at all times.
Handle retail sales and maintain par stock levels
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned

Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to pool equipment and cash register
Effectively and efficiently move around work area
Balance, bend, carry, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, reach, squat, and twist. These actions are required in order to assist guests in the proper use of the equipment and to perform other job duties.
Lift up to 60 pounds and push and pull up to 100 pounds of towels, equipment, and supplies.
Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, wet/humid conditions, crowds, and noise. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as slippery conditions. Proper safety precautions are taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided
Must be capable of administering CPR, First Aid or provide rescue in accordance with Red Cross training

Background must-have:
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Previous pool lifeguard and/or customer service experience preferred.
Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in The United States
High school or equivalent education required
Possess works card s for American Red Cross certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training & First Aid
Previous experience in retail sales involving high-profile customer contact, or through two months of on-the-job training.
Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in a full-service hospitality establishment
Previous pool lifeguard and/or customer service experience preferred.
