About the Role.
The senior Device Marketing Manager is responsible for all mobile device go-to-market activity ensuring VM device marketing and associated overall device experience is brilliantly executed to our customer base and to all VM internal & external touchpoints for the lifecycle of the product
Accountable for the marketing relationship at all levels between Virgin Media and our mobile manufacturer partners ensuring that VM marketing teams and all channels are equipped to create best in class executions for our mobile products.
Responsible for driving the partnerships with our device partners to maximise the opportunity with them and to drive a financial and brand benefit to Virgin Media
Ensure team is highly engaged, motivated and aligned to the Virgin Media organisation

The Senior Device Marketing manager will ensure device portfolio and commercial priorities are executed through all Mobile marketing channels on a monthly and quarterly basis. Recommend device propositions to VM marketing and sales channel teams to drive the right demand to meet connection targets.
Accountable for the overall devices go to market plan for Virgin Media. This includes leading on all flagship handset launches, owning plans around existing handsets in range and delivering best in class plans for new product categories and manufacturer launches. To supplement these plans, also accountable for all manufacturer engagement activity within channel, which includes building channel incentives, managing training, engagement and road shows activity to ensure strong product knowledge across all front line agents.
Ensure effective marketing lifecycle management of handset range including in-life refreshes, promotions and align marketing activity to price erosion plans with portfolio and commercial teams to ensure range remains competitive
Manage post execution to ensure device marketing activity has taken place, is compliant and work with stakeholders in relevant teams to address any gaps. Continuously improve processes to support marketing execution and lifecycle management of device marketing and customer device experience
Champion the Virgin Media device vision and strategy ensuring our selected portfolio of products is well understood and supported across all internal and external teams. Accountable for providing in-life device support across business touch-points ensuring product features, benefits and any product issues are communicated and understood effectively ensuring both high customer NPS for device range and high level of staff engagement and advocacy for mobile devices.
Own and develop senior level device manufacturer marketing relationships ensuring VM strategy is communicated and understood. Work closely with all device manufacturers to ensure alignment and consistency between their messaging and VM ensuring differentiation and unique/bespoke marketing opportunities for VM where possible. Create quarterly marketing plans for each manufacturer to support the quarterly commercial agreements.
Work with devices commercial team to encourage collaboration with key manufacturers on roadmap and marketing development creating successful device propositions including design, feature set and timing to fit Virgin Media requirements. Continuously review market intelligence and competitor activities on handset and tariff propositions and creating device strategies to compete effectively. Ensure market awareness of competitor device marketing activity and highlight opportunity for VM to differentiate
Be a key player contributing to VM portfolio selection, planning and launch processes, provide in-life device experience support and feedback as required
Strong leadership of team to ensure that the team delivers its key measurables in line with business requirements. Ensure development of individuals within the team to achieve their personal goals
The Must Haves…
Well-developed stakeholder management skills, ability to influence and work vertically at Executive level internally and externally
Understanding of marketing budgets and planning
Must be credible with key brand manufacturers including Apple, Samsung for example
Ability to understand future needs, trends and incorporate these into local strategies to compete effectively
Ability to work cross functionally, leading and influencing virtual teams to ensure results are delivered
Proven ability in conflict resolution and facilitation and must be comfortable working in a high pressure, fast moving environment
Required qualifications and experience
Considerable experience of working in the handset market, either from network, manufacturer, ideally both
Experience of handset marketing and campaign management
Strong track record of delivery against commercial KPIs
Well-developed understanding and delivery of successful processes and associated governance across complex matrix organisations.
Experience of leading and setting direction for direct reports to deliver department KPIs
